Celebrating Our Team Each Month

6/18/2024 (Permalink)

Each month, SERVPRO of Phenix City, Eufaula & Tuskegee comes together for a monthly breakfast to celebrate our team.

We'd love to share about what happened at our May employee breakfast to give you a peek behind-the-scenes.

Our May company breakfast was an incredible one! We had Robert Moore, the Head Coach of the men’s basketball team at Columbus State University, as our guest speaker. He shared wisdom about working together as a team and about how you are in control of your motivation and your happiness. It was an empowering speech!

It’s that time of year, so we did a quick give away for a grill. Congrats to Matt Perryman for winning!

Lynn talked about the growth of SERVPRO® and how fortunate we are to be a part of the brand.

We also celebrated some of the Mother’s we are so lucky to work alongside (unfortunately, missing a few from our team who have been hard at work helping customer’s from a storm that came through our community the night before).

If you want to see photos of our monthly breakfasts, be sure to follow along with us on social media where we always share a quick recap!

A Homeowner's Experience

6/2/2023 (Permalink)

We recently got a glowing review from a customer named Shannon and we wanted to share this on our blog. THIS is what it is all about! We appreciate the opportunity to take care of our customers in moments just like this. Thanks again, Shannon for sharing.

"I have been a homeowner for over 20 years and this was my first homeowner's claim. I was so upset when I woke up to half of my home being flooded. My husband and I felt so overwhelmed and unsure of what would become of our home. My first call was to my insurance agent who told me to contact a restoration service immediately. She gave me several companies to choose from. I had never dealt with any company of this nature but decided to go with SERVPRO. I was not sure what to expect from their initial visit. I was anxious and nervous. SERVPRO was able to meet me the very next morning to do a very detailed inspection (finding things I didn't even notice immediately). David Spitzmiller took detailed photos and listened to all of my explanations and worries over what was to come. He was so sympathetic to how devastated we were. The next day the mitigation team l by crew chief Cole Brown began the process of removing the carpet, and hardwood floors and installing fans and other equipment to help ensure the damaged areas were removed and the fans, dehumidifiers, and air blowers would run to prevent any additional damage. He and his team were amazing at handling everything. I was stressed about what and how my furniture would be moved and protected. They came in and told me not to worry they would get everything moved and I didn't have to do anything. Their team immediately got to work and I was with them the entire time they answered EVERY question I had and explained to me each step and what purpose it served. While having your home flooded is scary and devastating I promise SERVPRO is professional, caring and I will sleep much better tonight because of Cole Brown and his team for their hard work to begin my home on its way to being ready to rebuild the damaged areas. I can not express how much knowledge and information they provided to me all day as they worked (and wow is flood damage a lot of work to remove). I am grateful to SERVPRO for the professional, caring, and knowledgeable team I had. I know I kept asking some of the same questions over and over but Cole answered them with a smile, information and compassion each time. Sometimes I just needed to hear his reassurance about what was happening and what was going to happen. I want to thank them and all of the SERVPRO team for their hard work."

Celebrating Regional Emergency Preparedness

5/19/2022 (Permalink)

Earlier in the month of May, our team celebrated the Regional Emergency Preparedness Day alongside so many awesome people!

The City of Smiths Station and Russell County Emergency Management were both hosts of the event (amongst others).

We had a great tent setup that not only showcased equipment and provided some snacks, but also had a corn hole setup for everyone to get their game on. Did we see you there?! If not, we'd love to see you at the next one! We'll be sure to share when it happens next on our social media.

Celebrating Mother's Day

5/9/2022 (Permalink)

Photo shows women holding white roses to celebrate Mother's Day. Happy Mother's Day to the moms on our team!

We love celebrating our team any chance we get, but Mother's Day feels extra special.

These ladies wear many hats, but we know that their most important hat is being a mother. How sweet of a moment it was when a few of our team members brought up getting roses for those on our team that were moms. We knew we wanted to share this on our blog because it truly speaks to what an amazing team that we have and what it means to be part of the SERVPRO family.

Mother's Day is always celebrated on the second Sunday in May and has been an official US holiday since 1914.

Since we weren't at work on Sunday, of course, we took the opportunity to celebrate these moms last Friday. We wouldn't be the company we are today without each of you!

Adventures of Dehu: Our Elf on the Shelf

12/15/2021 (Permalink)

Photo of our elf on the shelf named Dehu with text overlay stating he's back and to stay tuned. Meet Dehu!

We are halfway through the month of December. Woohoo! We love to get in the Christmas spirit around our office. In the past few years, we have been visited by Dehu, our Elf on the Shelf! Yep! He comes to visit our warehouse in Smiths Station, Alabama leading up to Christmas. He hides around our office and warehouse each night and waits for one our employees to find him.

We look forward to being able to share his hiding spot each day during the week after he is found by one of our team members! If you're not already following us on social media, this is a great time to do so and to have something to look forward to each day. You can find us on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter

So... where do you think we will find Dehu next?

2021 SERVPRO Convention + Hitting 15 Years of Business

8/6/2021 (Permalink)

Once a year, all of the SERVPRO franchise owners and some of their team members get together for the annual SERVPRO Convention. In 2020, convention looked a little different. Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, it was held virtually.

This year, we were fortunate enough to have a hybrid convention! Some of our owners stayed home and watched virtually, while some of the SERVPRO family went down to Orlando, Florida to spend time with each other and learn from one another.

Our owners, Jim & Susan Culpepper, were recognized for FIFTEEN years of business! This wouldn't be possible without each of you, so thank you from the bottom of our heart.

Through general sessions, workshops and fellowship, our owners were able to gain knowledge that we are bringing back to our territory to better serve YOU.

IICRC Certified & Your Peace of Mind

5/17/2021 (Permalink)

Did you know that we are an IICRC Certified Firm? Let's talk about what that means.

The IICRC is the Institute of Inspection Cleaning and Restoration Certification, a non-profit organization for the cleaning and restoration industry. For a brief overview, it consists of standards, certifications, and certified firms. As described on their website, their purpose and mission is;

"The mission of the IICRC is to establish and advance globally recognized standards and certifications for the inspection, cleaning, restoration and installation industries."

As a consumer, IICRC allows you to have peace of mind when knowing who to trust in the restoration industry. We have to follow the industry guidelines and perform the scope of work that we have learned in our IICRC classes & continuing education. With the help of DryBook paired with the standards that IICRC puts out, DryBook tells us how much equipment we can set in a home. This depends on the size and how much material has been affected. Pretty cool, right?!

Carlos & Bo are pictured above.

On Friday, March 22nd, we had an employee breakfast at our office in Smiths Station, Alabama, and celebrated years of hard work from a dedicated employee. Here at SERVPRO, you'll see us referring to our employees as our "SERVPRO Family" and we really mean that. Carlos has done just that. He's always come to work with a positive attitude and has always been a dedicated member of the team. It is hard to say goodbye, but we are thankful to have had him as a part of the SERVPRO family.

“Carlos has worked with us for the past 6.5 years and has learned the business and done everything asked of him. He has the utmost pride in his work and pays attention to the details. Here to Help

Joe Walden (Smiths Station's Fire Chief) and Jim Culpepper (owner) pictured above.

At our Business After Hours event with the East Alabama Chamber of Commerce, we had a TV raffle to raise money for a local family who recently suffered fire damage at their home. That local family was the family of Smiths Station's Fire Chief Joe Walden. We raised $350 and matched that as a company to donate a total of $700 to his family. The attendee who won the television in the raffle asked for it to be donated right back to that family. Thank you to our generous community for helping us make this happen!

We also wanted to share a comment on our Facebook post from a former employee Lois, "I’ve been retired from this SERVPRO for almost 4 years and I am still proud to say, THAT’S MY TEAM!!
Best team ever!!"

When we say SERVPRO family, we mean it. Thank to our local community for letting us help you all in your times of needs. We are so proud to serve this local community.

Restore > Replace

3/24/2019 (Permalink)

Let's talk about content restoration.

SERVPRO of Phenix City, Eufaula & Tuskegee specializes in restoring contents damaged by fire, water, or mold. Our expertise and “restore” versus “replace” mentality can help you save money while preserving precious keepsakes that can’t be replaced. We pretest your contents to determine what items can be restored back to their condition before the water damage. We utilize several methods of cleaning your contents, including the following:

  • Dry Cleaning - Used for cleaning light residues or to pre-clean prior to wet cleaning.
  • Wet Cleaning - An effective cleaning method for removing moderate to heavy residues.
  • Spray and Wipe -Effective for items that can’t withstand wet cleaning.
  • Foam Cleaning - Used for upholstery fabrics that might shrink or bleed if wet cleaned.
  • Abrasive Cleaning - Involves agitation of the surface being cleaned.
  • Immersion Cleaning - Contents are dipped into a bath of the cleaning product.

We know how much your belongings mean to you. They're more than just content; they're photos, they're your babies first outfit, they're memories. We understand that. That's why we pride ourselves on being able to do our best to Restore > Replace.

First Responder Bowl

12/4/2018 (Permalink)

SERVPRO is proud to announce the inaugural SERVPRO First Responder Bowl being played at historic Cotton Bowl Stadium. The newly renamed bowl is designed to honor the sacrifice and service of the brave men and women who are the first line of defense in local communities like Phenix City, Eufaula & Tuskegee when the unexpected or the unthinkable happens. Kickoff for the event, televised by ESPN, is December 26 at 1:30 ET, featuring Boston College and Boise State.

The SERVPRO First Responder Bowl will honor first responders including police officers, firefighters, EMS workers, correctional officers, search and rescue teams, dispatchers, security guards, federal agents, border patrol agents, and military personnel who have specialized training and are the first to arrive and provide help at the scene of an emergency. Event organizers planned to distribute 10,000 complimentary tickets to verified first responders and their families who sign up at https://www.firstresponderbowl.com/first-responders. These complimentary tickets are possible thanks to corporate sponsors like SERVPRO and individual fans who chose to “Sponsor a Responder” with a $15 donation when they purchase their general admission tickets.

“The SERVPRO First Responder Bowl is a celebration of the commitment to service demonstrated by the everyday people who willingly put themselves in harm’s way to protect the lives and property of their neighbors,” said Sue Steen, CEO of SERVPRO Industries, Inc. “SERVPRO is honored to have this opportunity to shine a spotlight on all of these hard working first responders, and their families, and to recognize them for the heroes they are.”
