Stove Top Disasters

The NFPA says, "In 2010-2014, U.S. fire departments responded to an average of 166,100 home structure fires that involved cooking equipment per year. These fires caused an average of 480 civilian fire deaths, 5,540 civilian fire injuries, and $1.1 billion in direct property damage." We see it all too often. Thankfully, we are here to help. Give us a call today.

Smoke Damage

Since each smoke and fire damage situation is a little different, each one requires a unique solution tailored for the specific conditions. When various materials burn, the soot and residue they create differs greatly and requires a specific cleaning procedure.

What's Left Standing

We know it isn't just stuff. It's your home. It's your belongings. It's the life you have built with your family. There is no silver lining when a loss like this happens.. but we are here to help and here to guide you through the process of restoring your home. Let us help.

Not What You Expect

Sometimes what is outside your home can start a fire and effect the inside drastically. Make sure you have a fire extinguisher in your home and quickly call 911. And then call us to get your home back to pre-fire condition.

Microwave Strikes Again

If you find yourself with a microwave fire, FIRST, use a fire extinguisher. If you don't have one, try to throw lots of baking soda or salt on it. Never use flour, which can explode or make the fire worse. Lastly, Smother the fire with a wet towel or other large wet cloth.

Pro tip: Buy a fire extinguisher.

Another Kitchen Fire

Turn off the burner or oven if you need to leave the house or get caught up in a phone call. Keep dish towels, pot holders, and paper towels away from the stove.

Kitchen Fires

We warn about kitchen fires often but that is because they happen all too often. Please make sure that you keep an eye on your food when it is cooking in the microwave, oven, or on the stove!

Do You Have An Escape Plan?

Fires can engulf your hallways quickly and those hallways may be a key to your escape route. Please make sure that you discuss your fire escape plan with your family and always have multiple ways out but only ONE meeting spot so you can ensure everybody has made it out safely. Things can be replaced. You cannot.

Fireplace Reconstruction

Sometimes damage goes beyond the naked eye. What looks like just smoke damage could have seriously damaged what is behind the walls of your home. We have the expertise to figure out what is necessary to get your home back to pre-fire condition.

Your Home

A fire can take your home in what feels like the blink of an eye but we are here to help. Please give us a call when disaster strikes- big or small.

All it took was a quick push of a doggie bowl out of the way for you to see the noticable damage that this fire did (which started on the stove top).

Stove Top Fire

A stove top fire can easily get out of control if you don't handle it properly. Remember to NEVER use water to attempt to put it out. Always smother the fire to keep it away from the oxygen. We will be writing a blog post on how to prevent and handle a stove top fire! Coming soon!

Microwaves Can Cause Fires, Too!

We have warned of stove fires time and time again, but here's an example of a customer who's cause of loss was their microwave. Always be close by and mindful of not only the amount of time that your food is in the microwave, but also mindful of the material that you put in there. Always double check that it is microwave safe to avoid disasters. BUT, if disaster happens, remember that we are always here to help. Give us a call at (334)-298-8252!
